Fast & Professional Help When You Need It Most
Locked out? Key snapped in the lock? uPVC door jammed shut and refusing to open? It happens and when it does, you need calm, reliable help without panic or pressure.
Locked Out? I’ll Be With You Fast.
Being locked out is stressful — whether it’s your front door, a uPVC patio door, or a garage entrance. As a family-run locksmith based in Whitstable, I cover emergency call-outs across East Kent during working hours, Monday to Friday. I carry all the tools and replacement parts I need in my van, so in most cases I can get you back inside in a single visit — without causing unnecessary damage to your door or frame.
There are no call-out fees. You only pay for the work carried out, and I’ll always tell you the price before I start.

What to Do While You Wait
- Stay safe — if you’re locked out and feel unsafe, wait somewhere well-lit or in a neighbour’s house.
- Don’t try to force the door — this can damage the frame or lock mechanism and increase the repair cost.
- Check all other entry points first — a back window, conservatory door, or garage may be unlocked.
- Have your ID ready — I’ll ask for proof of identity or residence before entry. This protects you as much as anyone.
- If you’re a tenant — let your landlord or letting agent know. They may have a spare key or a preferred locksmith clause in your tenancy.
What to Expect When I Arrive
- ID check — I’ll ask to see ID (driving licence, utility bill) confirming you live or work at the property.
- Assessment — I’ll look at the lock and door type and explain what I recommend before touching anything.
- Fixed price confirmed — I’ll quote you a firm price. No surprises.
- Entry — In most cases I can open the door without drilling. If a lock does need replacing, I carry British Standard cylinders and mortice locks in the van.
- Job complete — I’ll make sure the door opens and locks correctly before I leave, and I’ll tidy up any debris.
Emergency Locksmith Pricing
I don’t charge a call-out fee. Pricing depends on the job — a straightforward lock-out entry starts from £85, and a full cylinder replacement (including the new lock) typically ranges from £99–£130 depending on the lock grade.
I’ll always confirm the price before starting. What you’re quoted is what you pay.
Note: I operate Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm. I don’t currently offer a 24-hour emergency service, but if you call outside those hours and leave a message, I’ll respond as early as possible the next morning.

FAQ SECTION
Q: Do you charge more for emergency call-outs? There’s no call-out fee and no emergency surcharge. You pay for the labour and any parts needed — nothing else.
Q: Will you damage my door to get in? In the vast majority of cases, no. I use specialist non-destructive entry techniques first. A lock will only be drilled as a last resort, and I’ll always discuss that with you before proceeding.
Q: Do you carry replacement locks with you? Yes. My van is fully stocked with British Standard cylinders, anti-snap locks, and mortice locks in common sizes, so I can usually fit a replacement on the same visit.
Q: What areas do you cover for emergencies? I cover all of East Kent, including Whitstable, Herne Bay, Canterbury, Faversham, Sittingbourne, Margate, Ramsgate, Deal, Dover, Folkestone, and Ashford. See the response time table above for typical arrival estimates.
Q: Do you work weekends? My standard hours are Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm. Weekend availability is limited — call to check. I am sometimes available on Saturday mornings.
Q: What ID do you need to see? A photo ID (driving licence or passport) plus one document confirming the address (utility bill, bank statement, or tenancy agreement). If you’re locked out of a business premises, a work ID card or letter from the business will usually suffice.
Q: Can you open a uPVC door that won’t lock or has a dropped handle? Yes — this is one of the most common jobs I attend. uPVC multipoint lock mechanisms are a speciality and I carry common replacement gearboxes in the van.
